Posted on Sunday, November 06, 2005 - 00:30 GMTIf anybody has unlock codes for portable DVD players, please post them here so they don't get strewn needlessly about the forum. I have a Panasonic DVD-LX95EBS that needs to be made region free.
The only people that are helping me solve this are the researchers at DVDEXPLODER. Here is a link to their free page: These dudes unlock DVD players, recorders, PC DVD ROMS, portables and loads of other devices. Check them out, but post here if you can help me with my player! If you have a portable unlock problem then post here and I'll try to help you if I have the time. Posted on Friday, March 30, 2007 - 04:35 GMT'Hi All Can someone please give me the unlock code for an LG DP170 portable DVD player.
It's Australian but we get a lot of UK dvds. My 9 year old will be very grateful!:-D' Hi John I am also in Australia and have just unlocked the same model dvd player to wach dvds from the UK it was quite simple when i finnaly found out what to do, just open the the dvd tray turn the power on and then press the number 0 on your remote 7 times and a message should come up asking you to put the region number you want in, press 0 again then it should tell you to press pause to continue, it should now be reigon free. Hope this works for you.
I tried resolving through which first reads: With the DVD player turned off(stand by), press: TOP MENU CLEAR POWER Choose option 2 and after option 4. Type: 12450 press enter 00000 - Then press enter and power off. And also tried here on fixya: (which is the same but suggests a code of 24570) and also down the page on I tried the suggestion of: 1.Switch on the player 2; Pop open the CD compartment 3. Enter the following code (using the remote): 2812 4.
Highlight the region 5. Change to 9 (for Multi-region) using the 'Enter' button 6.
Hit 'Clear' to exit 7. Pop in a DVD and enjoy! What happens in this last one is that there is no 'region' to highlight after step 3, which later in the ecoustics page suggests to skip step 4, and just substitute pressing 9 for step 5. Still nothing happens. I tried resolving through which first reads: With the DVD player turned off(stand by), press: TOP MENU CLEAR POWER Choose option 2 and after option 4. Most users have rated this player as 'junk' (sorry to be the bearer of bad news) and should be replaced. Maybe you can sell it on Ebay.
My suggestion is that the less expensive the player the better off you will be in the long run as the cheaper brands and models use DVD drives meant for PCs and Macs. More expensive models have proprietary drives, such as Sony, and cannot be manipulated and are not very versatile in recording media and or playing copyright hacked copies of DVDs even if you own the original DVD but has been scratched. The courts are still trying to figure out these protection measures as they are not fair use in terms of you the owner of a DVD and wanting to make your own backup copy for the kids to use.
