This will work on ANY WiiU Update that is released. Quest spotlight oracle. If the WiiU is updated, this tutorial will still work, even if I haven't updated the title to the latest Firmware version.
Nintendo don't have any interest in fixing the exploits on the vWii or Wii Console! Please, please stop asking me if it still works hahaha Screw the intro, the links are in this description after all, enjoy! (Y) Start is out of sync. Rest is fine! Thanks for stopping by my Wii U Homebrew and Backup Loading tutorial. This video won't tell you how the installation works in depth, but will guide you through the process, if you need in depth information comment and i'll do my best to answer your question.
This video will show you step by step how to install the Homebrew Channel and install cIOS for backup game loading on your Wii U, But only on the Virtual Wii side of things as there are currently no released exploits for the actual Wii U mode yet! Backups can only be run through a HDD, SD card OR USB stick, no disc loading as the drives are not compatible with DVDs any longer. Already a disclaimer at the start, but I'm new to video editing so it's not perfect, don't often talk on camera so my explanations might be a bit sketchy so if there's anything you need to know just comment and i'll guide you in text! When I talk about the Save and No save smash stack exploit for PAL Wiis, I know it's confusing so I'll try a bit better to explain here (This does not apply to US Wiis as there is no 'No Save' exploit).: There are 2 versions of the smash stack exploit, one that works if a save for SSBB has been made, and one that works if the game has never been played. If you've played SSBB on your Wii U and have a save file, you MUST delete all of the custom stages from your console before you put the exploit on your SD card. So Delete them if there are any, then put the 'private' folder of the SAVE exploit on the SD and carry on with the video. If you've NEVER played the game, and do not have a SSBB save on your Wii U console, all you have to do is put the NO SAVE 'private' folder on the SD card and follow the video.
The cIOS that you install are the files that USB Loaders and certain homebrew apps read to run correctly, without the cIOS installed you will not be able to run backup games via any method! YYou may however be able to run some types of homebrew so i guess thats an optional install, but I HIGHLY recommend it:) Personally, I never made a backup of my NAND, which is essentially a brick protection method if something goes wrong in the future, the reason i never installed it is because i'm fairly competent in the wii hacking and don't risk installation of files which could potentially harm my system! If you DO want to make a backup of your NAND for safety, you can install bootmii from the homebrew channel installer and use another homebrew app to dump the NAND, SO Steps As Follows.
Download Homebrew Installer and Smash Stack (Links Below) 2. Choose your Region and smash stack exploit type. Place Files on SD as directed in video 4a If you have previously played SSBB on your Wii U, Do not insert SD yet, Load SSBB and make sure there are NO CUSTOM STAGES in the stage builder! Delete as needed then you can insert SD card. If you have never Played SSBB on your Wii U, Insert SD, start game in Wii mode and choose not to create a save file, then go to stage builder. Install the homebrew channel as shown in video. 6.Download the cIOS Installer and NAND Dump Applications (Link Below) 7.
Install cIOS as shown in Video 8. Download the 16:9 aspect homebrew chanel and install with the instructions below. Go to Wiibrew and download apps! (link below) Homebrew Channel Installer (Copyright 2007-2012; Team Twiizers (Other credits found @ Bootmii.org/download/) Smash Stack (Bottom of page!) cIOS And NAND Dump Applications (Credit to Truth@ GBAtemp.net) Any apps can be browsed and downloaded to your hearts content on wiibrew.org!
The Homebrew channel we install in the video is only capable of 4:3 video mode, to change this to 16:9 follow the link below and download whichever colour of homebrew channel you want then put it in a new folder called 'wad' on the root of your SD card (SD:/wad) Once you've done that, place this application into the apps folder on your SD card, then insert the SD into the wii, load the yawmm App and install the colour of homebrew channel you chose!
